ROOKLEIF LAWN & LANDSCAPE incorporated in 2007 with the intent to provide total property management for business and residential clients that occupy the northeast territory of Indiana.
We believe the two most important components that make our business a success are our customers and our employees. We enjoy working hard to ensure we retain both. Outstanding customers, hardworking employees, the nature of our work and working daily in nature fuel the progression of this company!
HARDSCAPE & LANDSCAPE
We enjoy changing the appearance of your property with the intent to enhance your surroundings aestically and practically.
The first step in the design process is the initial consultation, here we discuss the project in detail finding out what you desire and what you don't.
After the consultations and designs are complete and agreed upon, installation begins.
When it comes to maintaining plants we work by the motto "if it needs done, do it". Trimming trees, bushes, and shrubs is a season long practice that keeps your landscape beds looking good year round.
FALL LEAF REMOVAL
Weekly clean-ups start in October and last until the end of November. We have weekly rates as well as monthly rates
*Target Nitrogen Rate for the Season is 3.6 – 4.0 LBS per 1000 square foot of turf. This program equals 4.0
*All fertilizer applications are applied in granular form. Unwanted grasses and broadleaf weeds are controlled in granular and liquid form. Heavily infested weed areas will require an additional spot spray treatment that is included in your program price.
*Total price of each application will depend on the square footage of your lawn. We can calculate the size of your lawn with help from a website called goilawn.com as well as Google maps & Beacon.
*This program is designed to control grassy weeds, sedges broadleaf weeds, and turf insects while properly feeding desired turf grass.
PROPER MOWING TECHNIQUES
The number one weed control practice is weekly mowing.
This keeps those unwanted weeds from maturing and
AERATING AND OVER SEEDING YOUR LAWN
Aerating your lawn allows air & water to be used by grass roots quicker, it also alleviates soil compaction by removing 'plugs' or 'cores' from your lawn.
DETHATCHING YOUR LAWN
Dethatching is the process of removing left over grass clippings
from the surface of the soil and should be performed once
every two years.
ROLLING YOUR LAWN
To roll or not to roll? We are not big supporters of lawn rolling because it causes soil compaction that leads to turf stress. We recommend only rolling once a year in the spring to level out frost heaving or mole tunnels if necessary.
When turf damage has been too severe (grubs, snowplows, construction, etc.) then repairs will be necessary. We recommend re-seeding in the Spring or Fall because lower temperatures and consistent rain benefit germination greatly.
